I was born and raised in Largo, Florida. Growing up with a bass pond in my parents back yard and a father who was an avid inshore fisherman, the interest in fishing didn't take long. I learned to fly fish for trout in the mountains of North Carolina when I was 13 and it wasn't until high school I decided to try fly fishing back home in Florida in my parents back yard. I purchased my first saltwater fly rod and reel and it's been a bad habit since.
My favorite species to target is the Tarpon. My love for this fish began when I took trips with my Dad and his friend to Homosassa to tarpon fish as a kid. Seeing a fish that size erupting from the water line on the horizon was forever burned into my mind.
I also enjoy fishing for redfish, tarpon, and snook in the shallow waters from Tampa Bay to Crystal River as well as many other species such as triple tail, jacks, cobia, and trout to name a few.
While most of our species can be found in our fishery year round, the species I am targeting are sometimes seasonally dependent, so shoot me a message to find the best time of to knock that fish off your bucket list!
